==== Boone County ====
  * 1810 - The [[County Court]] permits a ten foot high mill dam to be built on [[Middle Creek]].
  * 1812 - The last commercial salt is boiled at [[Big Bone Lick]].
  * 1813 - The first Lutheran minister in the county, William Carpenter, arrives.
  * 1814 - The [[Morgan Academy|Boone Academy]] is established.
  * 1817 - Boone County's second [[courthouse]] building is built.
  * 1818 - The county's second oldest town, Caledonia, is incorporated and renamed [[Petersburg]].

==== Kentucky ====
  * 1810 - Commercial lumber production begins in Kentucky.
  * 1811 - Henry Clay is elected to the U.S. Congress.
  * 1817 - The Legislature charters forty-six independent [[banks]] which were not required to redeem their notes with specie. Kentucky is flooded with this soon-to-be worthless paper money.
  * 1818 - The seven million acre Jackson Purchase is negotiated with the Chickasaw by Isaac Shelby and Andrew Jackson.

==== U.S. & World ====
  * 1811 - William Henry Harrison defeats Tecumseh's confederation at the Battle of Tippecanoe.
  * 1811 - Earthquakes beginning December 16 make the Mississippi River flow upstream for several hours and push the town of New Madrid, Missouri, into the river. The tremors are felt across the eastern United States and continue for months.
  * 1812 - The U.S. declares war on Britain. The [[War of 1812]] is the culmination of years of hostility between the two countries, sparked by the impressment of American sailors from their ships and by clashes between American settlers and allied British and Indian forces in the West.
  * 1813 - Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry defeats the British navy in the Battle of Lake Erie.
  * 1813 - Tecumseh, who had allied himself with the British, dies at the Battle of the Thames.
  * 1814 - The Treaty of Ghent ends the War of 1812, but the Battle of New Orleans is fought two weeks later (in January [[1815]]) because word of the peace has not yet arrived.
