====== Boone County Distilling Company ====== The distillery For over a century, the leading industrial concern in [[Boone County]] was located along the banks of the [[Ohio River]] in [[Petersburg]]. The roots of the Petersburg Distillery (also known as the Boone County Distillery) were grounded in a steam mill formed about [[1816]] and a distillery added in the mid-[[1830s]]. For the duration of the 19th century, the mill and distilling complex was continuously expanded by a succession of influential proprietors.
