====== Gaines Family ====== Gaines Family Reunion There are two sets of Gaines families in Boone County. One family was located northwest of [[burlington|Burlington]] in and around Gainesville/[[idlewild|Idlewild]]. This family, originally from Culpeper County, Virginia, was comprised of George and Susannah [[graves_family|Graves]] Gaines and their descendents. [[abner_gaines|Abner Gaines]] and his family settled in what became the [[Walton]] area and operated a [[gaines_tavern|tavern]] on the Lexington-Covington Pike.
