====== J.H. Walton House (BE 334) ====== J.H. Walton House Constructed c.[[1860]]-[[1870]], the Walton residence is imposing brick I-house in the Italianate style. The five-bay front is embellished with paired cornice brackets, paneled fascia, and a formal entrance with multi-pane sidelights. The 6/6 windows retain original shutters. Near the house stands a gabled brick outbuilding that may have been a wash house or kitchen. Labeled "J.H. Walton" on the 1883 atlas, this farm is one of several in western [[Boone County]] associated with the prominent Walton family.
