======Martha Macomb Flandrau Selmes, 1866-1923====== //By Cathy Callopy// The eldest daughter of Charles and [[isabella_ramsay_dinsmore_flandrau|Isabella Dinsmore Flandrau]], Patty, as she was called, was born on the Dinsmore farm. After her mother’s death in [[1867]], she came to Boone County to live with her grandpa and [[julia_dinsmore|Aunt Julia]]. She attended Miss Nourse’s school in Cincinnati where her interest in writing and drawing was encouraged. At the age of twenty-one Patty married [[tilden_russell_selmes|Tilden Selmes]] and the couple had one child, [[isabella_d._selmes_ferguson_greenway_king|Isabella]]. After [[tilden_russell_selmes|Tilden]]’s early passing, Patty ran a ham business on the farm.
