======Martha Munro Ferguson Breasted, 1906-1994======

Martha was born in New York, the daughter of [[isabella_d._selmes_ferguson_greenway_king|Isabella Selmes]] and [[robert_h._munro_ferguson|Robert H. M. Ferguson]].  Much of her childhood was spent in the mountains of southwestern New Mexico.  A very outgoing and well-traveled young lady, Martha married Charles Breasted, the son of Egyptologist James H. Breasted.  The couple had four children.  It was Martha who made the decision to turn the [[dinsmore_homestead|Dinsmore home]] over to the Dinsmore Homestead Foundation as a museum.  Upon her death she chose to have her body cremated and have the ashes buried with [[julia_farley_loving|Julia Farley Loving]], who took care of her when she was young.
