Stephens-Gaines House, BE-1453

Excerpt from the Burlington Historic District National Register Nomination

This substantial 2-story wood frame residence (c.1890) has an asymmetrically-massed facade incorporating the main entrance offset on the south side, suggestive of a side passage interior plan. The house has flat-topped fenestration, a one story hipped roof veranda extends across the facade. This veranda is supported by simple round columns with non-brick bases. Several additions have been made to the rear at indeterminate times

There is a 1 1/2 story wood barn (c. 1900) at the rear, with a laterally-oriented gable roof.
