<html><img alt=“Benson-Nicholson House” src=“https://bcp.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/search/asset/27782/0” width=“250” align=“left” title=“Benson=Nicholson House”></html> George Nicholson, one of Boone County’s master builders, built this Colonial Revival brick residence in the mid-20th century. According to a former owner, the house was built as a wedding gift for George’s sister Mae, who married long-time Boone County Clerk Dewey Benson.

The symmetrical facade contains a pedimented doorway framed by pilasters, and large, 8/8 sash. A screened porch adjoins the south elevation. The house sits on Ellwood Street in Burlington.
