Center of U.S. Population in 1880

The Census Bureau defines the mean center of population as the place where an imaginary, flat, weightless and rigid map of the United States would balance perfectly if all its residents were of identical weight. In 1880 this location was in Boone County. In 1790, the mean center was in Kent County, Maryland. In 2010, it was in Texas County, Missouri.
