Sullivan Homestead (BE 353)

<html><img alt=“Sullivan Homestead” src=“https://bcp.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/search/asset/29833/0” width=“200” align=“right” title=“Sullivan Homestead”></html> Beautifully sited on a scenic, tree-lined rural road near the mouth of Gunpowder Creek, the Sullivan Homestead is one of the county’s finest double-pen log houses. Constructed in the earlt 19th Century, it contains two cells of equal size divided by a log wall. The front contains four bays, grouped at the outer edges of the facade. A large, step-shouldered stone chimney anchors the north gable end. Directly behind the house is a large cellar of brick and stone, dug into a hillside.
