Tucker House (BE 270)

<html><img alt=“Tucker House” src=“https://bcp.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/search/asset/29942/0” width=“225” align=“left” title=“Tucker House”></html> High on a windswept ridge south of Union off of U.S. 42, the Tucker House enjoys great visual prominence. Originally a small log dwelling, it was enlarged and updated in the Gothic Revival manner around the time of the Civil War. Period details, such as finely scalloped bargeboards, and a dripmold cornice, are perfectly in scale. The roof is low and hipped rather than steeply gabled, and appears to hug the ground.
