Stone Cellar

Now in ruins, this stone cellar located on Bullittsville Road represents a type that was popular in the county during the mid-19th century. Built of coursed limestone ashlar, its walls are splayed outward for stability. The upper portion, with gabled roof, has fallen away. The cellar likely was associated with a log house that once occupied on the property (since replaced by the present bungalow residence). It may also have been associated with the log and timber-frame barns across the road.
