John Taylor, a pastor of the Bullittsburg Baptist Church wrote an autobiography called The History of Ten Churches which included chapters on all of the churches of which he had been a member. This work, which is an important source of pioneer religious history, includes a chapter on the Bullittsburg Baptist Church. This is of especial significance since it was the only church in the area at a time when Boone County had not yet been divided from Campbell.
