W.W. Smith House (BE 1121)

<html><img alt=“W.W. Smith House” src=“https://bcp.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/search/asset/30185/0” width=“200” align=“right” title=“W.W. Smith House”></html> This was the home of W.W. Smith, a “boss cooper” at the Boone County Distilling Company in Petersburg, who came to Boone County from Onandaga County, New York, in 1825.

Constructed around 1850, it is an outstanding vernacular interpretation of the Greek Revival style. The main door is framed by engaged pilasters; narrow, multi-light transom and sidelights complete the ensemble. The windows retain 6/6 sash.
