One of Walton's early financial institutions, the Dixie State Bank was built on South Main Street in the late 1920's. In later years the bank moved across the street into the former Walton Equitable Bank building.

Narrow and compact in form, the building is enhanced by classical detailing, including an entry frontispiece with engaged colonnettes.
