Lampton School (BE 548)

<html><img alt=“Lampton School” src=“https://bcp.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/search/asset/28993/0” width=“250” align=“right” title=“Lampton School”></html> The Lampton School served the forgotten community of Kensington, which grew up along the Southern Railroad. Built on the Old Lexington Pike in the 1860s or 1870s, the front-gabled building has a center doorway and side walls pierced by tall, regularly spaced windows. Above the doorway was a plaque bearing the name of the school.

The Lampton School has recently been renovated after years of neglect, and now serves as a residence.
