- March 9, 1867 - Boone County officially declares that Negro and Mulatto citizens are taxpayers and any unpaid real estate and personal property taxes are deemed delinquent.
- Julia Dinsmore's sister Isabella dies. Julia brings Isabella's children back to the Dinsmore Homestead to raise.
- Charles Kottmyer converts the Anderson Ferry operation from horse power to steam power. The first steam ferry is christened Boone No. 1 in honor of Daniel Boone.
